The 2nd Joint Coordination Committee at UFRO

   On September 5, we held the 2nd Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) of project MACH at University of La Frontera (UFRO) at Temuco together with all associated members.  A JCC is organized annually to share all the scientific and management progress on MACH project and discuss various issues related to 5 years project of implementation such as equipment procurement, scientific data sharing, and confirmation of technical visit to Japan and so on. A day before JCC meeting on September 4th, members from all the scientific institution of both Chile and Japan have internal meeting to prepare for the JCC meeting and shared progress and coming research plan.

    In this second JCC, we shared the progress made by each of the participating research institutions from UFRO, Instituto de Fomento Pesquero (IFOP), Los Lagos University and Antofagasta University, 4 Chilean institutions together with Japanese institution, Kyoto University, Okayama University and  National Research Institute of Fisheries Science.

    Members of Subsecretaría de Pesca y Acuicultura (SUBPESCA), Servicio Nacional de Pesca (SERNAPESCA), Ministry of Health (MINSAL), and Instituto Tecnológico del Salmon (INTESAL) participated as advisory members. There were also participation of Superintendencia del Medio Ambiente (SMA), Agencia de Cooperation Internacional del Chile (AGCI), Embassy of Japan in Chile and Mitsui & Co., Ltd. as observers. Representative of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) of Chile  has participated as one of the funding organizations of JST and JICA, Japan.

   At the end of the JCC meeting, Minutes of Meetings (MM) were signed by respective representatives from UFRO, Kyoto University, IFOP, JICA Chile and AGCI.
