Prof. Andr\u00e9s \u00c1vila (UFRO) and Dr. Mikihiko Kawai (Kyoto University) of this project collaborated to create a program and organized the course. Lecturers were Prof. \u00c1vila, Assistant Professor So Fujiyoshi (Kyoto University), Assistant Professor Michel Abanto (UFRO), Dr. Kawai, and Giovanni Larama (UFRO), who in total provided a comprehensive course covering basic topics ranging from biology to informatics as well as practical content of microbial genomics.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0 This summer course was carried out as a UFRO graduate course subject, with the supports by both biology-oriented institute BIOREN (Scientific and Technological Bioresource Nucleus) and informatics-oriented center CEMCC (Center for Modeling and Computational Science). We thank Dr. M\u00f3nica Rubilar D\u00edas, postgraduate academic director of UFRO, and other members who helped us to carry out the course.
